Welcome Rest
A guided meditation for sleep
Allow me to take a detour this week and try something new.
I want to walk you through one of my meditations.
This may feel unfamiliar at first, but stay with me.
First, lie down.
Then, take a moment to settle.
Let yourself slow down.
You don’t have to do anything right now.
Just be.
Breathe.
Give yourself permission to sleep.
You deserve rest.
Thoughts can wait until morning.
Now, take a few gentle, deep breaths.
In through your nose.
Out through your mouth.
Feel your head resting on the pillow.
Feel your blanket rise and fall with each breath.
Now slowly begin to scan your body, inch by inch.
Start at your toes.
Relax them.
Then your feet.
Your ankles.
Your calves.
Continue upward… slowly… inviting each part of your body to soften as you go.
Take your time.
Let go of the day.
Let stillness settle in.
Closing
You don’t need to stay here forever.
Just long enough to ease into rest.
To stillness.
To sleep.
